Maybe the state will get one charging station for that price?

No, for $65M they might get a road sign pointing towards an empty lot for an unbuilt charging station.
Biden gave away $7.5 B for charging stations and got “about ” 60 built. Some sources say as few as 4-5. That is $125M – $1.25B each.

Why is the cash-strapped State of Illinois via IDOT stealing money from Illinois taxpayers to subsidize wealthy EV owners?

Answer: The is JB the Hutt’s leadership in action. Worst governor in America.

If there is demand for EV glorified golf cart charging stations, the market will provide it.

Which of these political animals has a ‘brudder-in-law’ suddenly in the EV charger installation business?

Shouldn’t the free market be proceeding with building charging stations for electric car owners like gas stations? Shouldn’t the free market see the “opportunity” to build facilities that can be profitable and sustainable? If the free market does not see the “opportunity” or a need to be full-filled, what in the hell is the government doing using tax dollars for it? If these are so needed, why isn’t private business jumping on it? Another waste of tax pay money on a boon-doggle. Gosh, I’ll bet we can all predict where these will be built…certainly not down state.
