The bill to establish a Prescription Drug Affordability Board is part of a broader push by Democrats to address an affordability crisis that has rocked Illinois and the rest of the country. But opponents argue the panel would do little to actually lower prices while creating new layers of bureaucracy in state government.

When all the Walgreens, CVS, and other pharmacy companies leave Illinois you will not have to worry about affordability. I wonder how much the salary will be for this affordability Board, and who will get the honor of being placed on it. Maybe the board position will even have a nice govt pension. I hope it’s an expert from another arm of govt or public institution that is already receiving a 6 figure public pension. Remember, double dipping is only bad when sharing food.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
