Lawmakers seek measure to make small-scale plug-in solar panels available to renters – Capitol News IL

The plug-in solar bill allows people to install small solar panel systems that can be plugged into normal wall outlets for personal use. Instead of a rooftop, the panels could be set up on a balcony, in a yard, or on a porch or patio.

392 watts. That’s 4.8KWh over 12 hours per day as solar panels don’t work well when it’s dark. And out of that 4.8KWh there are losses going into the battery and coming out of the battery. Most of those losses are as heat but a cheap $25 Chinese system will also throw off energy as electromagnetic interference, both radiated and conducted, And then there’s the safety consideration of line-connected power converters built with the cheapest and fewest Chinese components possible.
