Don’t worry . Brandon Johnson will fix it all right up. Lol!

I’m sure studies over many years identified the root causes of rampant crime, including not having a family unit in place to raise children properly. Therefore, there’s no need for Johnson to spend more money on such studies. Since the root causes have already been identified and validated, he can concentrate on implementing recommendations of the studies. Unless he’s just talking the talk, I guess Johnson thinks he can make significant changes for the better, where so many before him for so many years were unable to do so.

Chicago does not have time for Brandon Johnson to have an epiphany.

Right. Why waste time and money on studies to identify root causes when those studies have already been conducted? Doing more studies while people continue to be victims of armed robbery and carjacking seems to be misprioritized.

Democrats cannot admit there are any problems with the culture of communities with high criminality. All blame must be put on society. It’s called ethnic narcissism when a community blames all its problems on others.

The root cause of crime is people committing crime. Prevent people from committing crimes and crime drops. Hammurabi made this clear millennia ago when he declared ‘an eye for an eye’. Progressives believe that the history of civilization is all wrong, and Kim Foxx believes she knows better than Moses with the 10 Commandments. The stupid people are now in charge, and as H. L. Mencken said, Democracy is the common person thinking they know what they want, and getting it good and hard. Brandon Johnson probably has an SAT of 850 and a credit score half of that. But… Read more »

Given the state of policing and prosecution in Chicago, the only people who can make the criminals pay is the potential victims fighting back. Get your concealed carry permit, and carry 100% of the time. Only you can prevent your victimhood.

Bad advice. In IL, if you have the wrong skin color or political beliefs, YOU will become the victim of the state for defending yourself. If you’re a white or asian getting carjacked by a minority, Kim Foxx will put YOU in front of a jury of 12 hardcore Democrats who truly believe, “You didn’t need to shoot the man with a gun pointed at your face, you should have just given him the car, that’s what insurance is for.”

Unfortunately you’re correct. Stay out of Cook County is the best advice.

Sad to say, you are correct.

Judging from the Walmart exodus, the arrest and prosecution from shoplifting isn’t much better. Um, I wonder if this tacit reinforcement of criminal behavior has something to do do with the “root causes” Mayor Elect Brandon Johnson has been boldly touting about. Will he confront DA Foxx with her abysmal enforcement of law breakers 🤔

The root cause of crime is…..people committing crime, something civilizations have figured out since the beginning of time.

Wirepoints posted the stats. I think the arrest rate for theft over $500 was 1%, pretty good odds of not getting caught/charged.

Life’s become cheap in Chicagoland — very cheap. Should be renamed Hobbesville.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
