Say what you will. This is just the latest nitwit elected by the low participating electorate. Good luck

a drop in the bucket compared to what trump has done as the total U.S. national debt has surpassed $39 trillion, with roughly $3.1 trillion added during trump’s second term to date.

Remember yesterday when you told us you criticize both parties because you are an equal opportunity critic?

yes, and i will always do so but trump happens to be the current president who ran on a platform promising to reduce the national debt and quite obviously never intended to do so. if/when a democratic president did the same thing they should also be equally called out.

I see. You intend to call out Democrats if/when they ever do anything you find deserving of criticism. But of course you approve of what they say and do, so how can you possibly find anything to criticize? Quite the dilemma, but we can be certain that in the unlikely event that a Democrat is wrong, you will be sure to let us know.

I would not put much faith in a politician’s promises to reduce the National Debt regardless of party affiliation. My guess is everyone is for cutting spending on all programs except the ones that affect them personally thus no one could get elected by promising across the board expenditure cutting with a corresponding reduction in the deficit. I think its become an accepted way of life here in the USA regardless if some of us like it or not.

Trump put a lot of debt on the next generation.

and after promising not to do so-i only wish that even a few maga/gop people would condemn him for this but no matter what he does they continue to support him.

No he doesn’t. He recognized an untenable situation and thought it would be a good idea to get ahead of it. Political animals just keep kicking the can towards an inevitable default. Better a crash landing than a smoking hole in the ground…

It’s also how he treated members of the AEC community that designed and constructed his developments. They never received contractually agreed full compensation. He’s a despicable human being.

Biden was just as bad as trump in this area but trump is the one who criticized Biden for adding so much to the national debt and promised that if elected he would reduce it-it’s the lies, double standards and hypocrisy on BOTH sides that are a huge threat to everyone.

Worse, Ratio King. The Autopen’s increases in spending were entirely discretionary, leading to huge piles of cash being tossed around with zero accountability (see the ironically named Inflation Reduction Act for details).

You’re a broken record repeating the same anti-Trump nonsense every day, but as my former secretary used to say, even a blind squirrel can find nut. Trump did add too much do the national debt especially during COVID. Biden added even more, and now Trump II is adding more than that. It’s a real problem. As my spouse says, we’re become poor but we just don’t know it yet. And the way out of this, as the WSJ explained today with Japan, is to inflate your way out of it, punishing the savers who do everything, and rewarding the speculators,… Read more »

I’m not so sure inflating our way out of debt is the right answer, although I think that is probably the only way to get out of our enormous federal debt. The reason I say this is voters don’t like the party in power when inflation rises faster than their pocketbooks can absord it.

Pay attention Chicago and IL residents. You probably won’t see this in the Sun Times or Trib. They consider IL Policy Institute to be right wing propaganda.

Illinois is nothing but a criminal enterprise.

This was an easy decision for Pritzker-give the unions more money in return for their votes. He’s planning on being in Washington and not around when the whole thing collapses. Someone else will have to clean up his mess.

Isn’t Illinois Fun?

As I recall, Pritzker shrugged, saying since the city didn’t object, he approved the bill. Why did he really approve the bill rather than be the adult in the room? So as not to piss off the IL public union industrial complex overall.
