Wirepoints President Ted Dabrowski joined Jeff Daly of WZUS Decatur to talk about Illinois lawmakers’ unwillingness to take emergency powers away from the governor, the dangers of one-party rule, the impact of higher gas prices and the massive debts of the state’s unemployment insurance fund.

Answer this. If Pritzker was a Marvel super hero with emergency “powers” what would they be? Any ideas?
The ability to swallow a VW Beetle in 1 Gulp
The ability to bankrupt a state with the stroke of a pen.
I’ve seen my rents, and home values soar, please keep it up Illinois
If you think that’s soared just wait until you get your high flying tax bill.
I should have said in Indiana,my mistake.
I think Pence said it when he was governor in Indiana. Living next to Illinois is like living next to Homer Simpson.
It was Mitch Daniels.
Spot on statement though.
A Democrat-heavy General Assembly proved its ineptitude long before the pandemic, but the lockdowns have laid bare how badly they’ve represented the voters’ interests. Sensible, even mildly informed voters must ask themselves, “Why is this OK?” Fiscal mismanagement, high taxes, woke educational and political systems, corruption, outmigration, no accountability, unenforced laws, union graft, etc. will continue if we, the people, don’t say “Enough!” and vote these idiots – greedy Democrats and milquetoast Republicans – out of office!
Unenforced laws is a big one. We’ve already got plenty of statutes on the books to fight crime and have the state run better. The accountability piece is where it falls. I’ve always voted for the person, not the party, and have been voting for more Republicans the last few cycles I cannot justify voting for Pritzker, Preckwinkle, Fox, Raoul, Durban, or any other statewide Dem. They’ve shown no leadership for the massive challenges that we face in this state, and in fact, have made things worse through their policies and inaction.
All politicians are scumbag liars with no sense of decency. That’s how they survive as politicians. That’s why in most cases (not all, but most) it’s better to vote party over person because even the nicest most likeable democrat is going to vote for hard left progressive policy positions 95%+ of the time. Every Democrat was beholden to Mike Madigan for 42 years even if some of them were good people. Those good Democrats advanced democrat policies pushed by Mike Madigan. Republicans are the lesser of two evils, they suck pretty bad too. But at least they aren’t pushing LGBTQ+… Read more »
Amen to that, but why can’t Republican representatives grab a microphone, call a news conference or organize a march? Milquetoasts! They shrug saying there’s nothing they can do in a Democrat supermajority state. BS! Find a backbone and create some friction! If they’re not solving the problem, they are the problem.
In Greek mythology, Sisyphus or Sisyphos (/ˈsɪsɪfəs/; Ancient Greek: Σίσυφος Sísyphos) was the founder and king of Ephyra (now known as Corinth). Zeus punished him for cheating death twice by being forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill only for it to roll down every time it neared the top, repeating this action for eternity. Through the classical influence on modern culture, tasks that are both laborious and futile are therefore described as Sisyphean
Point taken. But they’re also “Syssies” for not trying . . .
vote out ALL sitting repubicons, most are worthless hacks
I’d rather keep the rinos in office BUT add about 30 more true republicans. We’ll find out soon enough if the gerrymander was a dummymander in a R+5 environment.
Republicans won’t save us. At best, they can stem the bleeding. The rot is everywhere. at best our grandchildren will live in a world free from the freaks and weirdos trying to convince your children to chop off body parts.
