The $300 million Chicago has spent on migrants is just the tip of the iceberg – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Mark joined Dan and Amy to talk about Mayor Johnson’s idea of measuring the success of a school based solely on funding, the $500 million in state subsidies granted to EV company Gotion, how Chicago is spending more than $300 million on migrants and how there’s more to come, why CTU President Stacy Davis-Gates’ recent statement actually proves need for school choice, and more.

Rapidly approaching a chaos and crisis moment in Chicago and it’s not going to be good. Whether it’s violence against the migrants, or vice versa the boiling point is eventually going to be reached. When this happens, the police are currently ill equipped to handle major destruction. There are enough BIPOC folks who will take the law in their own hands. They may not have voted or may have been BJ supporters, forcing this nonsense down people’s throats is going to backfire. Dangerously close to the edge. Be sure if you are there to be armed at all times. Brandon… Read more »

It may baffle you that there’s no money for most things but $.3 billion for public charges.

Hmm, where or where did this pot of cash come from?

It was stolen from you via a future loss in purchasing power by the federal government printing money today.

When you’re paying $6 a gallon for gas in 2025 reflect back to the days of your youth when gas was under a dollar per gallon. Try to save your money in anything but dollars.

The good Chicago Democrats pushed hard for immigration as long as someone else was paying the bills. Like all socialism experiments they are fine when using someone else’s money but now Chicago/Illinois has to put its money where its mouth is…more tax hikes and fee raises on the way is what it all amounts to.

$300M for 12K jumpers = $25,000 each. How many are in police stations/O’Hare/tents/etc. That is $500 each per week for 50 weeks if they were here for a year so it is much more than $500 per week considering many were not here for a year. There are plenty of people who would like to make $500/wk tax free. Where is the money going? People in police stations are not getting that much or do they need it. A family of 3 or 4 means $1.5K to $2K per week living in a police station or sleeping on the floor… Read more »

Halve the ( undeserved) benefits as the other half will go to “ administrative/ staffing costs “ and other bottomless pockets aligned with Chicago/ Illinois government and friends.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
