Too many in government and the media are trying to normalize the level of crime we see in Chicago – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted Joined Dan and Amy to talk about the growing amount of crime in Chicago, including the fact that violent crime remains at a six-year high, why that hurts Chicago’s population and job creation, why Illinois’ job creation overall is suffering, the total failure of the state’s Evidence-Based Funding system for public schools, and more.

Wait a minute, aren’t Illinois legislators employees? They do get paychecks from their employer, the State Aren’t sessions of the Illinois General Assembly and State Senate employee meetings? How could they not be?

ARE THE LEGISLATORS GOING TO BE BARRED FROM DISCUSSING POLITICS AND RELIGION AT THESE EMPLOYEE MEETINGS?

Of course the anti white racist Chicago administration is promoting this type of behavior, they hate white people its obvious how racist and evil they are

They very much hate white people. And moreover, they also believe you – whitey – should foot the bill for all the city services too. And if you dare ask them to, you know, cut back on the shootin’ and murderin’, they say that’s racist. And if you mention that if they cut their shootin’ and murderin’ in half, we could actually defund the police, because there would be 50% less crime, and their heads start to explode.

Exactly correct debtsor, and democrats hate white people too, makes sense because the white democrats hate themselves so they vote for politicians who hate them and want to punish them for being white and they are so stupid they will always go along with it. Pretty f*cked up people, completely indoctrinated and dumb as brick losers

The photo of the attack on the 68-yr-old woman–I believe that took place in Portage Park.
In August of 2023 9-yr-old Serabi Medina was shot in Portage Park. Police believe the shooter may have been on meth.
When I lived in Portage Park I called the police on two separate occasions about two different drug addicts. Police could do nothing. One of the addicts was eventually sentenced to 5 years in prison for the manufacture of methamphetamine. The other addict, the dealer, overdosed.
Portage Park is/was advertised as a safe neighborhood. I don’t think so.

Its very simple, until the people in the neighborhoods organize, and direct their ire at the people in charge, ie Mayor, Chief of Police, and Cook County board President, this will continue. The leftist discovered how to do this effectively years ago, now this is what you have in Chicago. Otherwise, the only alternative is to leave the city.

The people of the neighborhoods do organize: in commie DSA type organizations that want to defund the police and provide equity. The few remaining reasonable people in Chicago are outnumbered; and the scared/fed up residents who leave merely flee to the suburbs and bring their degenerate values with them, and wreck their suburbs too. It’s difficult to accept but the Reagan, H Bush republicans are all gone or dead. They’ve all moved away to places with good governance. Illinois is not my grand-parents Illinois of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. The state is on the decline as the idiots are… Read more »

Keep electing Democrats, like “Beetlejuice ” Lightfoot and the “Progressive” Brandon Johnson and Chicago will “progress” just like Los Angles and San Francisco and Oakland did, just like Detroit did, just like Philadelphia did, just like Cleveland did, just like New York City did, just like Newark did, just like Baltimore and D.C. did, just like… well you get the picture.

Exactly Drew Pasge. Democrats are the most clueless of the clueless. The democrat’s solution is, i’m done with this democrat, next time i’m going to vote for a different democrat. The stupidity boggles the mind. LOL

Chicago has had its share of “community organizers”. The most notable ones included Saul Alinsky, the communist who became famous for his book, “RULES FOR RADICALS” and the other was the communist that eventually became famous for being the first black president of the U.S. who picked the useful idiot, Joe Biden, to be his V.P.

There were others of course, like Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Bill Ayers, Jeff Fort and 47 of the 50 various Chicago City Council members, who happen to be Democrats Each had their own particular “communities” they chose to “organize”.

These crime waves aren’t limited to Chicago. This is what happens when the Democrat Party takes control in every major U.S. city. From the West coast to the East coast, what once beautiful cities have, under Democrat rule, been turned into corrupt, crime ridden, welfare centers and sanctuaries for criminals, places overrun with illegal immigrants, drug addicts and growing numbers of the homeless. San Diego, L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Phoenix, Santa Fe, Houston, St. Louis, Memphis, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Gary, Detroit, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, Newark, Atlantic City, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Atlanta Orlando and New Orleans are… Read more »

Exactly, and if you take out the gun crime statistics nation wide here in the United States from the blue libtard areas, the US would be last in the world when it comes to gun crime, democrat policies cause the gun crime

It’s not all black males doing the crime. Primarily, maybe even mostly, but not entirely. Crime is an equal opportunity endeavor.

The democrat party promotes and encourages black crime in black areas because if they victimize the black communities, the black communities will rely more on the government, its their exact plan. Also if you go back to WWII, the US Government brought in thousands of high ranking nazis and hired them into the US Government. Makes sense seeing how things are being run by the government, the nazis have pretty much taken over the US government.

Chicago is dead. The grand experiment engineered by progressive socialists, led by JB, Toni, Lil Kim, Judge Tim, Lori and now Brando has killed Chicago. The Loop, once the economic engine of the city, is being converted into section 8 housing. The media tries to keep it all hidden and is complicit in the scheme. I feel sorry for the people trapped in the city, who are just waiting to be the next victim. Nobody will want to move into that hellhole soon.

“I feel sorry for the people trapped in the city, who are just waiting to be the next victim.” A police officer relative of mine, albeit very distant (a cousin of my grandmother) once told me, back in the 1990’s, during the height of the crack wars with hundreds of murders a year, that there are only two types of people who live in Chicago. The first type of person was the criminal. They live in Chicago because it’s a great place to commit crime. The second type of person was the victim. The victims live in Chicago because they… Read more »

Right again. You may not have been mugged or carjacked in Chicago yet, but if you’re afraid to walk outside, you’re still a victim; in this case, a victim of having some of your freedom taken away.

Your comment is so completely true. I was afraid to walk outside. Also I stopped bicycling alone–only bicycled in groups or with my spouse.

Debtsor, you are right. I was the second type of person. I was naive. I was 23 years old when I bought a home in Chicago. Worst decision of my life. During my time as a Chicago homeowner, I experienced vandalism, garage break-ins, and then endured the drug dealing next door. I learned that there are no consequences for armed robbery or sexual assault. I remember overflowing garbage and rats in the alley. The Polish nightclub across the street closed down after a shooting. Shootings have just increased over the years. Would never go back to visit. Gang members and… Read more »

Live and learn. Take a good look at the Democrat party and who it appeals to, criminals, radical fringe groups, free loaders, drug addicts, illegal aliens, anyone that hates America and liberals who are too stupid to realize it. This is the constituency of today’s democrat Party. Then take a look at those who run the Democrat Party and what they have done to please that constituency. Democrats have: opened the borders to millions of illegal aliens, and expanded America’s social welfare programs to provide for their every need, at taxpayer expense; crippled domestic oil production that drove up inflation… Read more »

I feel sorry for those Chicagoans who voted for Republican candidates, I feel no empathy of sympathy for those who voted for Democrat candidates, or those who didn’t vote at all; they deserve what they are getting, I recall with much amusement, those TV news street interviews, when black folks were asked what they saw as the biggest problems Chicagoans faced. So often the responses were “systemic racism”. These are same folks who have consistently voted for Democrats. The “systems” they claim to be racist (the public school system, the legal system, the enforcement system, the judicial system, the public… Read more »

And I hate to talk about race, I really do, but my enemies obsess over it, so I’ll point out that the public school system is run by a hispanic educator, the legal system is run by a black judge, the police is run by a black chief of police, the housing system is run by Tracey, a black woman, the public health system is run by a black woman, the election system is run by a lady 77 year old (Toni) and the city services is run by a black mayor. Black Democrats run everything, yet, the pervasive systemic… Read more »

Chicago has NOT had a Republican Mayor since 1933. The last decent Mayor Chicago had was old Mayor Richard J. Daley, the “Boss”, as Mike Royko described him, not his idiot son “Richie”. Under Mayor Richard J Daley, Chicago grew and prospered. The city worked, the snow was plowed, the garbage was picked up and the police were respected. Old Mayor Daley tolerated no disorder. He knew how to deal with the protesters and rioters. There were no boarded up store fronts on the Loop’s Michigan Avenue, or any other streets in the Loop. There were no mobs of marauders… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
