Sounds silly, the issues that matter for black like everyone else is crime, property taxes and income.
Great interview, this gentleman gives me some hope! He is not viewing issues through an ideological “lens”, but more via a ” common – sense ” lens. It’s a modern – day tragedy that the Black community has been so taken advantage of – and marginalized- by liberal dem policies, starting with the “Great Society” programs of the 60’s…
This was excellent. I really appreciate Devin Jones’ perspective. He makes so many good points: the lady who moves because of the parking tickets; the property taxes rising (because the city’s expenses never decline) while the value of the property decreases; CRT is a distraction–the kids can’t READ! Etc. Excellent. Maybe in a year you can have a follow-up interview with him.
Jennifer- Yes, we will have in back. I have endless respect for people like him who are in the trenches and battling like he does.
Agreed! There are many like him,, doing the “heavy lifting”, but we never hear about them. Please have him on more often, if it would be much appreciated!
The parking ticket saga was *very* illuminating. A “small” issue, but these small indignities mount and fester, eventually becoming intolerable, and then still another disgruntled citizen “votes with their feet” and leaves. Dealing with the Byzantine “Chicago Way” is not too dissimilar from the way people lived in the old communist East Germany – even the quiet and politically passive East Germans had had enough, and then, BOOM…!!! No more East Germany…
