Comment: This entrepreneur says that young, new entrepreneurs underpaying themselves will, under the the Fair Tax amendment, get a a tax cut. Just one problem with that: It’s not true. Only token cuts for lower income groups are proposed. And he says he’d be happy to pay higher rates now that he has a better income, and some others no doubt share his view. But if he knows the same VCs and angel investors we do he no doubt has spoken to some only by video call to Florida or other places to which many have fled.

Fraud reports flood into IDES – Rockford Register-Star

“John Dunn of Springfield said he got a card Monday that was issued in his mother’s name. It was mailed to his address even though his mother never lived there. He knew the card was issued incorrectly because his mother died in 2016 at the age of 99. He said she hadn’t been employed for 25 to 30 years prior to that.”

AT&T gets subpoena in Madigan probe – Illinois Policy

The Tribune reported AT&T and ComEd had many of the same former Madigan staffers and state representatives on their employment rosters. This included Madigan’s former political director Tom Cullen and legal counsel Heather Wier Vaught. Former state Reps. Kevin McCarthy and James Brosnahan also got lobbying jobs with each company. AT&T Illinois President Eileen Mitchell worked for Madigan and former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
