Committee Chair Tim Walberg, of Michigan, called on Northwestern University President Michael Schill to sit for the interview in late April, citing “antisemitic threats and harassment occurring” on NU’s campus. In his letter, Walberg wrote that since Schill’s 2024 testimony, “the Committee has not seen your commitments to discipline, enforcement and security come to satisfactory fruition.”

The latest mass shooting happened around 3:17 a.m. in the 600 block of East 133rd Street in the Golden Gate neighborhood, according to police. A group was standing outside when shots were fired at them, striking a woman and three men.
